Music for the End of the World: 565 lore friendly True Music tracks & MORE!
Requires True Music [41.73]
This is a music mod based on Tsar's True Music framework that was originally titled "Rose Music", and released for the enjoyment of the Ravenrose RP community. However, I've decided to release this publicly, as it has far outgrown its original scope.
Notice: Currently, sandbox settings are broken and I'm not sure why. Although you can change them and they'll clearly reflect new drop-rates in LootZed, indicating that the sandbox settings ARE working properly and are changing the values they're supposed to, the game seems to simply ignore these new values and spawn them at the baseline rate anyway. This seems to be new in the last few Project Zomboid updates, so I have no idea how to fix it. If someone more competent than me could give it a look, that would be great!
This mod adds 865 tracks, listed here in full:

This mod's features include:
- 565 completely lore-friendly tracks from the year 1993 or before.
- 200 more tracks in the 'Extended' expansion which are mostly from between the years of 1994 and 2000, but with a few between 2001 and 2004.
- 100 'Home Labelled' tracks in the third expansion, consisting of some of my favorite modern songs as well as some Silent Hill tracks. These modern songs have been selected to hopefully not break immersion too much.
- Vinyl covers for every single track from the Main and Extended mods.
- Reduced weight for cassettes (0.2 -> 0.05) and vinyls (0.2 -> 0.1) for songs from this mod.
- Space-saving compared to default True Music mods by referencing the same sound file for both Cassettes and Vinyls.
- Custom sandbox settings that allow you to edit the rarity of each individual pack to your liking.
Some things to note:
1. Each of the three mod packs in this pack can work standalone and may be freely enabled/disabled in any combination.
2. This mod is scattershot in genre; a great many of the songs were requests by users from the Ravenrose communities, and many more were chosen by me. It has a little bit of everything.
3. At first, the more items you add to a container, the more of that category of item will spawn; so the more cassettes there are in the game, the more will spawn on average, as each has an individual chance to spawn. However, there is a limit at which containers will no longer spawn additional items of that category. Music items form their own category and thereby won't stop other loot from spawning, but after a certain point, the more music items you have in your game, the rarer any individual track becomes.
You will see a LOT of cassettes and vinyls, even at very low loot settings, with the default values of this mod. That's fine in my opinion--because there are so many tracks, if music items spawned too infrequently it would be almost impossible to collect every track. However, if you're fine with that and want to make music rarer, try these settings:
MAIN: 0.005
EXTENDED: 0.003
HOME LABELLED: 0.0001
These numbers will make the rarity of music items resemble baseline True Music, making only a couple of music items spawn in each possible container if any at all. The next time you load the Sandbox Settings after saving these, the numbers will have changed to scientific notation which might look weird--but rest assured that it's working, even if it looks weird.
4. Cassettes and vinyl spawns are divided across different loot sources. For instance, a Dresser can spawn a specific range of cassettes, whereas a Locker will spawn a different range, often with some overlap. So: If you can't find a specific track, try to vary up where you look.
5. This mod is compatible with all other True Music mods (barring weird circumstances), but any overlap will result in tracks that appear in both mods spawning more often than normal.
6. This mod can be safely added or removed at any time during a save. The only problem you will encounter doing so is that new music items will only spawn in containers that had never been loaded before the mod was added (i.e. in areas you had never explored), or if loot respawn is enabled. This mod is also, of course, compatible with multiplayer.
If you enjoy this mod, consider liking and favoriting it. Thank you!
Please do not redistribute this mod without my permission. Taking this mod, adding to its track list and reuploading is not acceptable. If you want more songs, I recommend making a supplementary mod using Tsar's guide on the True Music page; it's easy!
