Ultimate General: Civil War
Ultimate General: Civil War invites you to participate in the American Civil War. A tactical war game contained five dozen battles - from armed conflicts to full-scale battles in huge locations and with a large number of soldiers. Historical battles, the course and results of which depend on the actions of the gamer, are passed individually or alternately.
Among the advantages of the strategy are:
- Campaign with 50 battles - this includes the battles at Gaines Mill, Antietam, Fredericksburg, Stone Reeve, Gettysburg, Chicamauga, Cold Harbor, Richmond and Washington.
- The ability to control the army - the gamer acts as a general in control of the army. The player will have at the disposal of different divisions and brigades, raising his reputation among the fighters.
- Innovative command system - the user will choose the level of control, taking control of each individual soldier or assign all fighters one task, and the generals will carry out its implementation.
- Development of officers - the user controls the officers, developing their ability to fight. In the case of the effectiveness of the tasks, the ranks of the wards are increased.
- Historically Accurate Weapons - There are Civil War weapons here: Anfield muskets, Whitworth rifles. Some specimens can be picked up after battles, or by capturing enemy warehouses.
- Full control of fighters - the player can send shooters to reconnaissance, unite brigades in divisions, and hurry cavalrymen so that they become invisible to the enemy.
- Developed AI - the enemy is strong and capable of advancing on the flanks, attacking, finding weaknesses in the defense, cutting off the supply of troops, retreating in case of superiority of forces.
- Use of terrain - here you can dig trenches, create borders and fences, build houses. The features of the earth's surface are used to gain benefits.
The user chooses the side of the conflict - the northern Alliance with less experienced fighters or the southern Confederation with excellent motivation, but a small number of soldiers. From the start, you need to decide on the regime - this is participation in individual battles, or the passage of the entire campaign throughout the war, starting with the attack on Fort Sumter, ending with the victory over Generals Sherman and Grant.
The skills of the commander in chief are also important to choose, but they can be changed in the process. The tactician can get a larger number of wards, the strategist will earn more experience for the troops, the logistician does an excellent job of supplying supplies. Between battles, the formation of regiments, the purchase of weapons will take place. The user has four types of troops: infantry, riflemen, cavalry and artillery with their own parameters of morale and experience.
