Blitzkrieg GZM 11

So, the day of the long-awaited release of GZM 11 has finally arrived. Before downloading the mod resources, please read the information below. Before installing the new version, you must uninstall the old version of GZM along with the Blitzkrieg game, which is not required for GZM 11 to work. It should be noted that the system requirements for GZM are significantly higher than for the original Blitzkrieg 1. In addition, the volume of the new version is much larger than that of GZM 9.15.

In any case, you must have at least 48 GB of free disk space (47 GB for the main game files + 1 GB for temporary files and save files).

As already mentioned, the original game is not needed to install GZM v.11 . After downloading the resources of the mod, you just need to run the installation file (Setup.exe) and continue with the installation, following the instructions. Some antiviruses sometimes show unhealthy suspicion of the Setup.exe file, immediately declaring it a virus. There are no viruses in this file. If such a situation occurs, it is recommended to disable the antivirus during installation, or add Setup.exe to the exceptions.

Attention! During installation, the user will be offered the dgVoodoo utility, which, in theory, should improve performance, as well as the visual component of the game. As it turned out, it is far from suitable for everyone, various glitches were identified on some systems. We decided to make its installation optional. If the user took the risk of installing the utility, but later regretted it, then this can be easily fixed by deleting the following 5 files from the GZM11 root folder:

  • D3D8.dll

  • D3DImm.dll

  • DDraw.dll

  • dgVoodoo.conf

  • dgVoodooCpl.exe

And vice versa, if the user did not install this utility initially, then if desired, it can be installed manually by unpacking these files into the game root from the dgVoodoo.zip archive (located in the Tools folder in the game directory).
If you are an advanced user, then the utility can be customized to your taste - for this it has a control panel with many settings.

Optional resources. After installing the game in the GZM11 directory there is a Data_optional folder, where there are optional archives. To connect such an archive, you just need to transfer it to the Data folder, to disconnect it, respectively, remove it from there. Consider the contents of each archive.

  • GZM11_[ENGLISH] - English localization of the mod (the translation is far from complete).

  • GZM11_[OPTIONAL]_GermanLateSkins – textures with 1943 camouflage type for German vehicles. Having played until 1943, the player can throw this archive into Data, and German technology will be transformed.

  • GZM11_[OPTIONAL]_OldFont - the font has been changed in the 11th version. This archive returns the old look of the font.

  • GZM11_[OPTIONAL]_OldGroupIcons - Vanilla icons for unit group numbers. They will look like in the original game.

  • GZM11_[OPTIONAL]_OldMissionPanel - Completely "vanilla" game interface (minimap and command bar).

  • GZM11_[OPTIONAL]_VisibleWaterBridges - this archive is needed only for mapmakers. With it, invisible bridges and mines become visible, which is often necessary when creating maps.

Also in the game directory there are Manual and Tools folders. The first contains various manuals for modders, as well as instructions for some network cards. In the same place in the GZM_v.11 file, you can read about the history of the project and the changes made. The Tools folder contains various tools for modders and the dgVoodoo utility.

Recommendations. After the start of any campaign, it is recommended from time to time (after 8 chapters) to clean the "maps" and "scenarios" folders in the "Data" folder. Otherwise, you may encounter the fact that you are moving to a new chapter, and new missions do not appear on the map or the maps crash when loading.
The mod was made for the normal (“realistic”) difficulty level. All other difficulties have "wrong" modifiers, and therefore it is strictly contraindicated to play them. Therefore, do not change the difficulty in the settings in order to avoid problems with the passage of the game.
After installing the game, you should start a new campaign. Saves of old versions (and even more so of the original game) are not compatible with the 11th version!
If the player encounters any technical problems at launch or during the game, he can try to solve them using the methods that are described in the topic Blitzkrieg GZM 9.15 (“Problems and their possible solutions”).

Using mod resources. All modification resources created by the GZM team (maps, units, buildings, effects, voice acting, etc.) are the intellectual property of the GZM team, and can be used in other modifications only after agreement with the GZM team management.

CSLA mod's objective is to approximate to post-nuclear central European warfare during the 1980s. Everything should be real - numbers of troops, equipment, military tactic, period battle plans, battle maps according to real satellite maps etc.
