How to Install Mods for Stray
Stray is a game all about being a cat, and fans thoroughly enjoy this unique cat-based adventure. But after you complete the game, you may be looking for ways to enhance your experience or play through it again this is where mods come into play. This may leave you wondering how to install mods for Stray.
Depending on what type of mod you install, the method is different. Some mods are installed in similar ways, others are a bit different. That said, we have grouped these together. Some require you to use the Stray folder, which you can access by right-clicking Stray in your Steam library and selecting Browse Local Files. Here is how to install mods in Stray.
With mods, you download and install them at your own risk. Some mods do not work with others, while others can mess up your game, so always verify that the mod works and is safe to install.
To install cosmetic mods, you need to move the respective .pak file into your folder for Stray. These mods are relatively simple to install but allow you to play as other cats, like a siamese, black cat with mustache, and more. Here is how to install cosmetic mods:
- Download the files for the mod.
- Find the .pak file.
- Place it in the steam\steamapps\common\Stray\Hk_project\Content\Paks folder.
- You may need to delete other .pak files already there.
