The Armed Zone 3.0 [TAZ 3.0 BETA]
Farwell, TAZ. It is with a sad heart that I announce the end of an era for me, the time has come to say goodbye to the modding community and stand down as a modder. It has been a great journey modding this wonderful game and enjoying it to its fullest. I've been modding stalker for 13 years now, and TAZ is my best work despite being hated on and called whatever names. It is and will always be my all time favorite period in my life, letting it go while keeping great memories created by all the wonderful mods and game versions I've ever came across. Having a wonderful run with Radium and MDT teams has lead me into creating my own project, but everything has an end, including what seemed to be an ever lasting joyful hobby. Modding STALKER has taken a massive portion of my life, never hindered it but had always took an important part of it, now it will remain as a wonderful memory.
TAZ 3.0 is out now as an unfinished beta version, it's playable as it is, but it still have a bunch of things to fix and a select few guns left untouched. This release can also serve as a modder's resource package.
Note that this release is based on Anomaly RC15, so if you don't mind downgrading your game than you should be fine doing full runs with your favorite guns and noticing almost no game breaking issues. That being said, you can still install it on Anomaly 1.5.1, but be warned, all high zoom based 3D scopes such as HAMR, Acog, C79, etc, are busted in term of fov. This needs to be manually fixed one gun at a time. It's a one Axis correction for each scope on each gun. Eotech, Barska, Kobra, OKP, PK-SA, and all zero zoom based scopes are fine to use, 2D scopes are good to use as well of course. If anyone is familiar with the in-game hud editor than it should be a manageable fix; making the project more playable for Anomaly 1.5.1.
Anyone is welcome to take this release; refine it, do the necessary fixes, tweaks, and corrections, and I'll happily reupload a newer version after including any fixes made by the community.
The package contains a quick fix for Anomaly 1.5.1 for people who want to try TAZ 3.0 on it.
A few notes about the build:
Any gun you equip will not fire, switch your firing mode to semi, burst, or full auto, that's due to safe mode feature being included in almost all guns.
TAZ 3.0 is built with the following FOV settings, use for proper hud positioning and aiming:
-fov 75
-hud_fov 0.73
Descriptions are not on point, don't rely on them telling you what attachments go on what gun, always use your eyes and reasoning when attaching things.
