Screen Space Shaders [Update 5] [1.5.1]

Improved SSDO, new Screen Space Shadows and Screen Space Reflections shaders for Anomaly 1.5.1 - Update 5 : Improved Screen Space Shadows.


This addon include 4 new shaders for Anomaly 1.5.1.

  • The first is just a tweak of the original SSDO shader to "improve" the visuals and coverage of the effect. To use the new shader just add the mod and select in the graphic menu of the game the SSDO AO option.
  • The second effect is a implementation of screen space shadows ( SSS or Contact Shadows ) for the weapons and arms. The shadow is implemented only for the sun and moon light. You can play with the values inside the "screenspaceshadows.h" file to change the effect quality and visual.
  • The Third, screen space reflections ( SSR ). The shader uses only 8 steps by default to create the effect, is really simple and fast. You can adjust the intensity of the effect in "screenspace_reflections.h" modifying the G_SSR_INTENSITY value ( 0.8f by default ). For additional customization, you can adjust the reflection intensity of the weapons with the variable G_SSR_WEAPON_INTENSITY ( 0.3f by default ).
  • Fourth, a new water shader to introduce new SSR reflections, refractions, caustics, rain ripples and general improvements to the water. You can customize some values inside the file "screenspace_water.h".

- Known bugs -

  • If you use MSAA with the SSR shader the sky will reflect to surfaces only a basic color, at the moment I don't have a better solution. If you want perfect reflections, disable MSAA.
