We are excited to announce that Brixel v3.0 is now available! The resource pack hits the round number with numerous goodies focused around Ancient City theme! In addition to that, there is plenty of new content to discover, so let's dive straight into what is new:

Ancient City is an underworld domain that consists mostly of dark colours. Yet, it is also full of light sources such as Sculk, Lava, Fire and Candles. They create a unique combination of warm and cold light that interacts with the surroundings. We had this fact in mind when creating Brixel content for the Ancient City. 

All of the different Sculk blocks consist of components that emit light in various ways. We also added custom animations to those light sources, to make the scene more dynamic. The blocks have a shiny surface that reflects lighting and create unique visual experience.

Somewhere in those mysterious depths, the Warden has his lair. Beware of this dangerous mob, this time in bricky Brixel version! :)

But let's make things a bit brighter. Besides from the deep dark content, the 3.0 update is literally full of colorful, new content for the Overworld!

You can now make your creations more vibrant by adding Banners and Candles in all the different colours and variations. And there is no better way to celebrate different occasions than lighting up the new Brixel Cake! We've really put effort to make the Cake as "bricky' as possible - it even breaks into smaller pieces when eaten! We hope that you like it! :)

We've also added Flower Pots. They are compatible with all of the different species of flora. Time to bring some green decorations to our Brixel homes :)

There is also a bunch of new items like Goat Horns, Honeycombs and more. Be sure to check it all out!

Oh, and we've almost forgot - we the update brings another new mob. The Witch made her way to Brixel. She even brought her cat. Meow!

Installation tutorial, Brixel 3.0 BSL version:

In order to install Brixel 3.0, follow those steps:

1. Download & install or update to Optifine 1.19.4 HD U I3.

2. Download & install the following shader: BSL Shaders v8.2.02.

3. Unpack the attatched .zip file in your ".minecraft" folder. Choose "Yes to all" when asked about overwriting the files.

4. Run Minecraft and turn on the resource pack in "Options" menu.

5. Enjoy Brixel!

Note: This will overwrite your Optifine and shader settings to ensure that Brixel will run as intended.

About the pack:

In order to work, Brixel requires installation of the newest stable version of Optifine, as well as the shader mentioned below.

Please make sure that you follow the installation instructions that come together with your pack. Your gaming experience may be unsatisfactory if you won’t follow those instructions.

Works exclusively with BSL Shaders v8.2 and above. BSL is currently one of the best looking shaders out there, and it works great with Brixel. The shader has some great aesthethics and makes tke bricks look shiny and crisp. The pack works very efficient with this shader, keeping ~60 FPS on an above-average gaming setup, which makes that most of the users shouldn’t have any problem with running it. You can use the pack with other non- ray tracing shaders as well, with some tweaks in options.
