Artefact renovation

Artefact renovation - an addon that changes the characteristics of the main artifacts, adds various properties to "junk" artifacts, and not only that. Only for Anomaly 1.5.1 Artefact renovation.

The addon has been updated to Anomaly 1.5.1

The third version of the addon is close to completion (75% of the planned work is completed). I will not name the release date - it all depends on the availability of free time and my workload at a real job.

Small update of the addon (v 2.1):
- Fixed the inability to find the Moonlight artеfact using detectors.
- Removed the reward for the Hip quest in the form of the Basilisk artefact (it will be issued according to the main storyline in the third version of the addon).

Also changes in the compatibility patch with the Boomsticks and Sharpsticks addon:
- Added combined configuration files of trading presets.

The archive contains compatibility patches:

  • For Boomsticks and Sharpsticks addon (folder "Artefact_Renovation_1_5_1_Patch_for_BaS" - install it after AR and B&S addons). Attention! If you're using B&S and Trader Overhaul Complete addons, choose pacth from folder "Trader_Overhaul_Patches" (see instruction below). If you're using B&S and Overhaul of Trader Overhaul addons, after installing all addons use first patch from "Artefact_Renovation_1_5_1_Patch_for_BaS" folder, then from "After Overhaul of Trader Overhaul x3 BaS Patch" folder.
  • For Overhaul of Trader Overhaul (folder "Artefact_Renovation_1_5_1_Patch_for_Overhaul_of_Trader_Overhaul_x3", subfolder "After Overhaul of Trader Overhaul x3").
  • For Trader Overhaul Complete addon (folder "Trader_Overhaul_Patches")

Installation order for Trader Overhaul addon (and for combination of Boomsticks and Sharpsticks and Trader Overhaul addons):
1) Artefact renovation addon.
2) Normal or Outfit version (Main Folder) of Trader Overhaul addon.
-> 2-1) Trader Overhaul (HARD) or Traders Overhaul (Buy Damaged Stuff) from Optional files (if you want to use that versions).
3) Boomsticks and Sharpsticks addon (if you want to use it).
-> 3-1) B&S Patch from archive with Trader Overhaul addon (Standart (Normal) or HARD or Buy Damaged Stuff)
4) Patch from folder Trader_Overhaul_Patches from archive with Artefact renovation addon (first choose Normal or Outfit Version, then choose and install ONLY ONE folder depends on combination of addons that you're using).

The patches for BaS and Overhaul of Trader Overhaul are made by the user GrumpMaestro, for this I thank him.

Hip quest fix is included in RC23 version of the addon (it was previously separated from the addon). That "fix" is for the quest from Hip to bring artifacts to Sidorovich: instead of "Fireball", you now need to bring "Crystal", because "Fireball" is now much harder to find.

Just like before, the archive also has an optional version of the addon (folder "Artefact_renovation_1_5_1_v2_1_optional") with lowered chances to respawn rank 3 artifacts:
Rank 1 - 71,43%
Rank 2 - 21,43%
Rank 3 - 7,14%

You only need to install one version - the "Artefact_renovation_1_5_1_v2_1" folder or the "Artefact_renovation_1_5_1_v2_1_optional" folder.

The addon has been updated to v2.

Changes in version 2:
- Artefacts "Chain" and "Thistle" with the property of removing radiation moved to rank 2. (Less chances to respawn) The increase in maximum weight carried has also been adjusted for them. (see the screenshots)
- Changed the characteristics of artifacts that output radiation and protect against radiation. (mostly reduced)
- Artefacts of rank 1 "Soul" and "Sourpuss" have reduced health recovery rates. (up to +1)
- Artefacts of rank 1 and 2 that increased the maximum carried weight have this characteristic reduced. (Bat, Cocoon, Lamp, Generator, Nightstar, Tapeworm, Gravi - see the screenshots)
- Changed the characteristics of the "Monolith" artifact. (see screenshots)
- The prices of all rank 1 artifacts are reduced by 15,000, and rank 2 artifacts are reduced by 10,000. (in the first version of the addon, the prices were too high)
- Fixed the weight of all former "junk" artifacts in containers.
- Fixed that the "Anomalous bread" artifact did not give radiation while in IAM and AAC containers.
Please note! - Artefacts with thermal protection, chemical protection, psi protection, radiation protection, and endurance enhancement now have a different display of characteristics. The value of the artifact with the maximum characteristic is now taken as 100% of the indicator in each category. In other words, best in slot. (Exception is "Monolith" artifact) The values of these artifacts themselves have not changed since the first version of the addon - only the way their characteristics are displayed has changed.
For example, the "Fireball" artifact in the first version has +1502% fire protection, now the same protection is displayed as +100%. This is the best artifact in the slot with fire protection. At the same time, the artifact "Pin" in the first version of the addon had fire protection +443% - now it is displayed as +30%. So, as you can guess, the "Pin" artifact has 30% protection from fire of the best artifact in the slot - "Fireball". I think it adds at least some information content of the similar characteristics.
- Sellers who used to buy "normal" artifacts now buy "junk" artifacts as well.
- NPCs that previously gave quests to find "normal" artifacts now give the same quests for "junk" artifacts.
- Reduced the overall chance of respawning all artifacts for balance reasons.
- Reduced the chance of respawning rank 2 and 3 artifacts.

Current chance of spawning artifacts (standart version of the addon - folder "Artefact_renovation_1_5_1_v2_1"):
Rank 1 - 70%
Rank 2 - 20%
Rank 3 - 10%

For those who believe that rank 3 artifacts respawn too often, the archive also has an optional version of the addon (folder "Artefact_renovation_rc23_v2_1_optional") with chances to respawn artifacts:
Rank 1 - 71,43%
Rank 2 - 21,43%
Rank 3 - 7,14%

You only need to install one version - the "Artefact_renovation_1_5_1_v2_1" folder or the "Artefact_renovation_1_5_1_v2_1_optional" folder.

If you think that there are too few or too many artifacts to respawn in general, you can configure this in the game. In the game settings: Gameplay -> Progression .diff -> Artefact respawn chance. Personally, I prefer to set this parameter to 0.2, which corresponds to progression difficulty - survivalist.

List of rank 1 artifacts (can be found using the "Echo" detector): Itcher, Ball, Stone Flower, Stone Blood, Knot, Meat Chunk, Fountain, Sourpuss, Sparkler, Pin, Mama's Beads, Battery, Cocoon, Soul, Jellyfish, Bat, Lamp, Moss, Nightstar, Tapeworm, Generator.

List of rank 2 artifacts (can be found using the "Bear" detector): Chain, Sponge, Claw, Eye, Thistle, Bracelet, Moon, Miser's skull, Spike, Wrenched, Kolobok, Crystal, Shell, Heart, Lobster Eyes, Medal, Ring, Electron, Empty, Moonlight, Gravi, Beacon.

List of rank 3 artifacts (can be found using the "Veles" detector): Snowflake, Fireball, Flame, Dragon's eye, Bubble, Cell, Black Angel, Signet, Flash, Black Spray, Firefly, Goldfish, Scar, Full Empty, Grapes, Sandstone, Phantom star, Atom, Sun, Seraphim, Death Lamp.

A new game is not required, but if you continue the game from the old save (where artifacts of rank 2 and 3 were already found), an imbalance is inevitable due to the changed chances of artifact respawn - keep this in mind.

For those who need the previous versions of the addon, it is located in the "Old versions" folder" (Standalone fix for Hip artefact quest is located there also - only for RC18 users. Folder "Artefact_renovation_Hip_quest_fix" - install on top of RC18 version of the addon).

Changes in version 1:

Bugs fixed: fixed a critical bug that prevented the artifact "Jellyfish" from being detected in the Fanatic's quest at the beginning of the game. Thank you to user vasyan682 for providing feedback.

To all those who do not like the current balance of artifacts characteristics in the add-on (especially in terms of portable weight, health regeneration, and radiation removal): the current balance is not final, and, most likely, it will still be corrected closer to the final release of the Anomaly, update 5.

What does the addon do:

- Changes the characteristics of the main artifacts. Basically, this is an increase in characteristics - in the vanilla Anomaly, most of the artifacts are practically useless (in my opinion).
- Adds various properties to "junk" artifacts - they are no longer "junk" for sure.
- Adds the ability to place "junk" artifacts in containers.
- Changes the description of "junk" artifacts in accordance with the added characteristics.
- Slightly changes the descriptions of the main artifacts (I found some errors in the vanilla descriptions). Also minor changes to the descriptions because of changed characteristics.
- Adds a system for the probability of spawn in anomalies of an artifact after an blowout or psi-storm. Low-rank artifacts with bad characteristics will have a greater chance of spawning compared to high-rank artifacts with good characteristics.
- Removes all "junk" artifacts from stashes (for balance reasons).
- Prices have been adjusted for all artifacts.
- Adjusted the list of artifacts available for finding by different types of detectors.

In connection with the strengthening of all artifacts, the impact of some anomalous fields was corrected, namely:
- Increased the impact of all psy-anomalies, in order to balance (since artifacts with psy protection were strengthened to significantly counteract the controllers). On the protective suits, this change had effect, but not much. However, edits are possible in the future.
- Slightly increased the impact of radiation fields. In the vanilla Anomaly, in my opinion, the radiation fields are too weak. In addition, in the addon added artifacts with radioprotective properties, as well as removing radiation.
- Slightly reduced the impact of thermal mines in thermal anomalies.

You can view artifacts characteristics in game easy. To do this, check "Debug mode" in the launcher, then in the game press F7, then press "1", then select "Artifacts" in the submenu on the left and watch.
