Private Practice 2.4.6.2 (04.03.2024)

The goal of this mod pack is to rework the Health system of the Sims 4. Exploring the ability to take care of your Sim's Health all under the same roof if you wish.

-Base Game and Get to Work Pack Required! Cats and Dogs Pack Optional BUT recommended utilize this mod to its full potential.

The character can be sent for a medical examination, after which you will learn about problems with his weight and blood pressure, how to reduce the risk and what to do to keep the character healthy. Health problems can lead to an earlier natural death.

ALLERGY
- There are a total of 17 types of allergies, ranging from allergies to the pollen of various plants and trees to allergies to dusty rabbits.
“It will evolve based on the play environment, meaning pollen and spores from regional plant species that can develop allergic reactions over time.
- Some pollens/spores are more allergenic than others (eg mother plant spores due to their invasive nature).
- To begin, your Sim will need to make an appointment at a Clinic or Medical Center. During the examination, the nurse will give you the results for any allergies. Most often, the first examination will not reveal allergies.
- When your character develops an allergy, you will see the corresponding moodlets. Here you should hurry up and give the character the right medicine.

COLD AND FLU
- These diseases can develop in your Sims with contagious viral infections depending on the season.
- Sims can now bring sickness home from school or work, or simply catch a cold if they get cold or wet.
- The incubation period of the common cold can be symptomatic (respiratory symptoms, throat discomfort, and dulled sense of taste), while influenza incubation is more common and the effects of the virus are immediate.
- Fever can also develop from viruses, so do not forget to treat diseases in time by taking the appropriate medicine.
- Added new social interactions. The character traits will affect the response.

INFECTIOUS SYSTEM
- Introduces possible ear, sinus, respiratory, and streptococcal infections into the healthcare system.
Streptococcal infections are contagious and can lead to scarlet fever if left untreated. Streptococcal infection can be contracted while the Sim is at school.
- Ear infections are more likely when your Sim decides to swim in the wrong place at the wrong time.
- Respiratory infections are common among characters who smoke or are exposed to secondhand smoke in games using the Basemental mod.

ADDITIONAL VIRUSES
- Norovirus (stomach flu) and mononucleosis have been added to the healthcare system.
- Norovirus can be caught at school or through contact with sick people.
- Mononucleosis can be contracted in high school when kissing a soulmate, if that character is of course sick.
- Well, of course, the author made functional hospitals for you, where your character can be examined and diagnosed.

To visit a doctor, use the phone, then you will have the opportunity to undergo a medical examination or make an appointment with a doctor.

Medical examination

From now on, your characters want to monitor their health. If your Sim undergoes a medical examination, you will be able to find out about problems with their physical condition or blood pressure. You will be told what to change in his lifestyle to improve his health and what could put him at risk. You may want to follow the doctor's advice, because if these problems are left unchecked, natural death may occur sooner.

Vital Factors

Just like in the real world when a doctor checks vital signs, your Sims can now do the same by checking their weight and blood pressure.

Weight: A vital factor that keeps track of your character's fitness score and weight. Being overweight or underweight will negatively impact your character's fatigue and need for sleep.

Being overweight/underweight or having high/low blood pressure can increase the likelihood of further health problems for your character. His lifespan will shrink a little every moment of living with these problems. On the other hand, playing a full-fledged sport can increase your Sim's lifespan.

Blood Pressure: A vital factor that is affected by a character's age, traits, and physical form, and varies with mood, energy levels, and how much water they drink.

A character's blood pressure can be affected by, for the most part, five key factors:  age ,  weight ,  needs (energy/thirst),  mood , and/or  traits . He must have  three or more of the listed factors within a range to receive a health report with high/low blood pressure data.

The only way to know if your character has health problems is to undergo a medical examination. The Medical Examination costs §150 and lasts 1-2 hours, and upon completion, your character will be given a health report.

How to go for a medical examination

To go to the medical examination, use your character's phone, open the "Go" tab and select "Private Practice". In the "Private Practice" menu, you can also view your character's health report from his last medical examination.

Health Reports

Health reports display your character's physical condition and blood pressure at the time of the medical examination. Click or hover over each result to read more about possible contributing causes and recommendations for improving your Sim's health.

Sims now receive recommendations in their health reports received upon returning from their next medical checkup. A medical check-up may be scheduled shortly after their birthday, 24 hours later, or seven days later if they have health issues that need to be monitored.

When your Sims are going to the Medical, they can get a whim about going to the Medical and a random stress moodlet due to their health concerns. Responsible characters are more likely to worry about postponing medicals, and irresponsible characters will never worry about their health.

Weight

Weight is measured in terms of fitness and body fat of the character. Stay in shape by building muscle or doing endurance exercises without reaching the highest fitness skill levels. Similar to how human muscle mass and body fat are measured.

Fitness and body fat ranges are set according to in-game thresholds:

HIGH: Above 30% fit/body fat | LOW: Anything lower than 30%

It would be wise to keep an eye on your character's weight, as the mod increases energy loss (10%), decreases character lifespan (.85x), or affects vitals. On the other hand, if your character's weight returns to normal, it can also increase energy (10%) and increase lifespan (1.20x).

Blood pressure

Private Practice measures blood pressure, which is influenced by a character's mood, energy level, and amount of water they drink, based on their age, traits, and fitness level. All these values are taken from the data already present in the game, and not specifically created for this mod.

HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE

In order for your character to have high blood pressure when measured, they must meet at least three of the following parameters:

- Age: adult or elderly

- Overweight

- Low energy

- Mood: angry, tense, agitated, flirtatious, uncomfortable, hysterical, depressed, very angry or furious

- Traits: choleric, insane, high metabolism or fussy

If the character remains in this state, their lifespan will decrease to 0.80x

LOW BLOOD PRESSURE

In order for your character to have low blood pressure when measured, they must meet at least three of the following parameters:

- Age: adult or elderly

- Under/Overweight

- Low/very low water levels in the body

- Mood: crazed or hysterical

- Trait: Picky

Chance decreases with the Cheerful trait and/or high blood pressure

If the character remains in this state, their lifespan will decrease to 0.95x

Career "Residency"
