ABOUT THE MOD
After a few days of messing around with unity, i managed to add a fully functional turret machine gun in the game. It uses the M60 sounds and animations as of now (will be changed eventually). Working on adding a improved model for it in the near future.
It has it's own ammo which i also added, and can be crafted at the workstation, just like the other types of ammo. The HP and AP variants are unlockable trough the DeadEye perk, might be changed to MachineGunner perk in next update.
Ammo is also present in loot such as the ammo piles and at the traders in moderate amounts.
The gun can be unlocked by reading the schematic which you can find looting/trading etc or simply finding the gun itself while looting/trading also. Chance to find it in treasure chests also.
OTHER NOTES
As stated before, the model itself is limited which made animation virtually impossible, which relied on me using the base of the M60, which is why when you will use it in game you might see that your hands will be glitched inside it. I adjusted the positioning as much as possible, but there's no other way for now. Hopefully i will find a better model that works fine for what i have in mind.
The modlet adds things such as a new 3d object which will require for it to be installed both server side, and client side, in the event that you plan to use this on your server with other friends. If otherwise, simply drag and drop in your mods folder, no other dependencies required.
