I understand some folks via the lore of this game have...what you might call an occult type following to a certain Raccoon...The name of the map might now take on a new meaning...as I figure if you can't beat em, join em. (Enjoy, my eight-legged friend)

The Compound is a map mod located in cells 26, 27 and 26, 28 in the dead center of Knox County. making access to the other various towns relatively easy.

This map was initially designed for my son and is geared mainly towards BEGINNERS of this game so that they can adjust to the steep learning curve of the game and learn the basics in relative peace. This map was designed and intended to be a home base. Unlike many of the bunker type maps I've seen and tried...this is NOT a treasure chest of gear and loot.

You will find most (but not all) of the rooms and storage in this area to be EMPTY. Having said that...I strongly advise that if you spawn in at this location, that you spawn in with a starter kit...otherwise you're liable to have a really bad day. (If you choose to wing it, there may be some decent goodies to be found, if you figure out which buildings actually have some non-empty loot tables)

It adds the following:

-relative safety and isolation, once you clear the area and fortify it (the base isn't complete, it still needs work. In other words...I'm not going to do it all for you...customize it to your own liking)
-easy access to fishing/trapping (you know, those skills everyone ignores until the power shuts off and they are already starving)
-plenty of room for farming, and some pre-made fenced off areas for when the upcoming livestock patch drops (once you clear some trees and add some fence gates, that is...but hey...it's easy lumber for leveling carpentry if you decide to finish the fencing...by the way...the graves by the gate are another hint)
-plenty of places to store your clothes, food, weapons, tools, survival gear, crafting items, etc
-plenty of parking for car collectors, and depending on your car spawn settings, you might find some decent transportation to get your scavenging started
-options for when the electricity and water shut off (if you're smart, you'll figure out the hint with the different colored roof tiles on the main house)

Like all map addons, you will need to start a new game to properly load/access this map in game. There are plenty of tutorials on how to add it to your MP game.

I strongly advise use of a lock-picking addon or perhaps even Eggon's Doors mod, otherwise access to the North sheds and the greenhouses may prove difficult.

I am not aware of any other maps that may conflict with this mod. However, I haven't checked each and every map uploaded to see if any occupy the same cells I chose.

I never intended on releasing this publicly, however multiple people have asked me to and recently it's gotten to be a daily request...so here it is. I hope you enjoy it as much as my son seems to.

I would prefer if you asked permission before using this elsewhere.

Clear Cove is a large, highly polished standalone map for Project Zomboid. Standalone means that it's not part of the vanilla map, it's its own new world that you are meant to explore and discover.
