Eggon's Worthwile Cars 2.0
Requires:
Eggon's Modding Utils
Vehicle Tweaker API
FEATURES HIGHLIGHT - ALL FEATURES ARE OPTIONAL!
★ Tweak impact of damage on trunks' capacity - prevent capacity reduction, slow it down or speed it up!
★ Adjust capacity of trunks for all cars (both modded and vanilla (with exceptions listed in Compatibility section)) - choose Eggon's Capacity Balance and/or use multiplier to further modify capacities accross the board!
★ Balance cars' loudness according to their size (type has an effect too) from lowest (Chavalier Dart) to highest (Chevalier Step Van & Chevalier Cosette).
★ Balance cars' engine force to make things more interesting
- everything is available through Sandbox Settings.
Adjust the value of Capacity loss rate multiplier setting to change the effect of damage on trunks' capacities. You can set the multiplier to:
1) Zero - to block capacity reduction (DEFAULT)
2) Number between 0 and 1 - to proportionally slow down capacity loss.
3) 1 - to keep the vanilla rate.
4) Number above 1 to proportionally increase capacity loss.
This setting will change the trunk sizes proportionally to car size ranging from 25 (Chavalier Dart) to 300 (Chevalier Step Van) for the vanilla cars. See one of the Steam page slides to find capacities of all vanilla cars. For large trucks from different mods capacity might be even higher.
Adjust the value of Capacity multiplier setting to further change the capacities of ALL trunks. The adjustment will be applied on top of vanilla trunk sizes or on top of Eggon's Capacity Balance if you selected it. Multiplier of value 1 means no change is applied. Value below 1 means proportionally smaller trunks, value above 1 - proportionally larger.
This setting modifies cars' loudness proportionally to their size. The larger the car, the louder it will be. Sports cars, such as Chevalier Cosette will be loud too. See the relative loudness of cars on one of Steam page's slides.
Range of cars' loudness is the same as in vanilla, however it is allocated differently to various cars. Some cars are louder, some more silent than in vanilla (most cars are slighlty more silent). Large trucks from other mods might be ca. 8% louder than the max vanilla level.
This setting influences power of a few cars to add additional flavors. Pickups and some cars with light bars get more power, so will be better for towing and trailers. Station Wagons will get less, to offset theit excellent loudness to capacity ratio. They will be sluggish and you should avoid driving them offroad especially when having the "Sunday Driver" trait.
EWC 2.0 should be compatible with all modded cars! (unless someone did something really crazy ;) ) In particular this means that all modded cars will be impacted by Capacity Multiplier and Capacity Loss Multiplier. Also there should be no more clashes with mods modifying vehicle files (like Refrigerated Spiffo Van and Vanilla Vehicle Enhancer), because EWC 2.0 does not modify these files.
However, if you decide to choose Eggon's Balance the configuration of the cars for this balance might not be yet implemented, because there are LOTS of modded cars. I will do my best to add the configurations for at least a few most popular mods. It will also be possible to make plugins to EWC 2.0 to create your own balances for any cars and/or cover mods not covered by me.
Confirmed compatible mods:
- Filibuster Rhymes' Used Cars - compatible - full balance is added!
- KI5's cars - compatible, full balance is added.
- Paint Your Ride - compatible
Please let me know if you identify any compatibility issues and if you can confirm other mods that you use to be compatible - I'll add them to the list.
To switch from original Eggon's Worthwile Cars mod to the 2.0 version just remove EWC and add EWC 2.0 with support mods to your savegame!
The mod should work with existing saves. All new values should be immediatelly applied. I expect the mod to work on MP. The mod will be added to a savegame with default settings. See below for limitations on changing the settings in an existing game.
After settings are changed, game needs to be reloaded. Changes to capacity and loudness should get applied after reload. Turning off Eggon's Engine Force Balance will not work for cars already interacted with. Therefore if you're planning to turn it off after adding EWC 2.0 to your savegame, do so when not standing next to a car. This way you will prevent this balance from being applied.
1) In version 41.73 loudness balance will be applied regardless of chosen setting (fix being prepared). For people who never played a Sandbox game an error in main manu might appear causing the same effect.
2) In MP players might experience flickering of trunks capacity (issue under investigation)
3) Additional trunks attached to cars (eg. roof racks) and or non-standard trunks of modded cars might display unmodified capacity in the mechanics menu. They should displayed correct, modified capacity in the loot menu.
