Better Starting Loadouts
This addon rebalances starting equipment and supplies to give more variety in the early game. Now compatible with Anomaly 1.5.0 Update 4. (If this is outdated, only use the "Without_Improved_Condition" gamedata folder and it should still be compatible.)
Tired of every survivalist start devolving into stripping a busted AK74 off a dead body and dealing with jams until you can afford a decent gun? Sad that an entire class of early-game guns are completely ignored because they aren't worth the repair costs? Confused why anyone would take an Echo detector when Fanatic gives it out for free? This addon addresses it all!
Every faction now has its own small selection of lower-tier guns to introduce variety into early game, and pistols are no longer part of the default loadout. Costs of all supplies were rebalanced to match more closely with trader price differences (medkits were used as the cost "anchor"). Drugs, artifact gear, and cooking supplies are more cost effective relative to other items to encourage different starting playstyles. Starting money is doubled to allow an actually useful purchase before leaving base.
(Optional) Starting gear condition is changed from 75-85 to 92-96 to allow early gear maintenance and keep those starting guns running longer. This extends the early game feel and puts more focus on saving up for better armor.
Update v2:
This update swaps out some of the Ecologist weapons with shotguns to reflect the early game enemies they'll be facing. It also tweaks a couple weapon prices to be more in line with other weapons and gives the Mercs/Monolith a more accurate shotgun with a lower firerate.
Update v3:
This update tweaks the default supplies of various factions. Military/Mercs now start with a grenade, Ecologists now start with a better gas mask, a pack of bolts, and a lead box, Clear Sky now starts with a hunting knife to skin boars, Freedom gets one (1) beer, and Renegades get a sleeping bag, worse vodka and a bug fix.
