Adrenaline - Panic Counters Tiredness
Adrenaline is a mod that adds a new mechanic to the panic and fatigue (tiredness) systems in Project Zomboid in a way that feels realistic.
In vanilla, when the 'Drowsy' moodle appears, the character receives a whopping 50% damage debuff, increasing to 80 / 90 / 95% as the character becomes more tired.
Adrenaline does not change this debuff, instead it allows you to temporarily circumvent it under stressful circumstances.
Adrenaline makes the Panic moodle temporarily reduce your character's fatigue, proportional to how panicked your character is.
This simulates an adrenaline rush, waking the character up and reducing (or even removing) the Tired moodle, allowing the character to perform and fight at a higher level.
This provides a final burst of performance out of the character before they truly require sleep, potentially allowing you to escape dire situations or secure an impromptu safehouse.
- After calming down, all the fatigue that the adrenaline took away (and then some), will sweep over your character, making them more tired than they were before.
- Only so much fatigue can be countered by adrenaline. A ridiculously tired character will still keep their Tired moodle, even if at the max panic level.
- Sleep is still a necessity. Adrenaline does not change how tired your character actually is, it only disguises it up to a point.
- If you go into a long, grueling fight, you might not realize you are tired until its over and calm down.
