Arszi's Better Starting Armours 1.1
Some factions start with unreasonably weak starting armors, taking the power of their faction and the difficulty of their starting areas into calculation. I did nothing fancy this time, just added some more reasonable starting armor loadouts for some factions. Designed to be used together with Arszi's Thrist Overhaul. Addon and compatibility patch Work on both RC and Update4Hotfix8!
Primarily, I intend this addon to be used together with my Arszi's Thirst Overhaul:í
I have to admit, I did not take the factions into consideration, who start deep in the zone with low quality equipment. Even one punch from a Snork or a Lurker might cause them to bleed out quite quickly... I intend to address the issue with this addon of mine. But this addon is still valid without my Thirst Overhaul of course! This loadout thingy was bugging me even before too...
Changes and the reason behind them:
* Duty: The faction is not as mighty as before, but still one of the strongest factions of the Zone. Their quests take the player to Truck Cemetery, Wild Territory and Army Warehouse immediately. And the starting armor is an old Duty leather jacket... They won't be this cheap anymore! Now, they will give a Duty Scout Outfit as a starting armor. Not to talk about the fact, that Freedom starts with a Wind of Freedom...
* Clear Sky: They are not the strongest faction either, especially after the events of the second STALKER game, but I felt the leather jacket too cheap in this case too. Now Clear Sky will start with a CS1 body armour. Also, since their starting area is highly radioactive, not to talk about the dense foliage, which makes spotting mutants and hostile NPCs more difficult, I think they deserve this starting armour.
* Ecologists: I gave a lot of tought to this, and the orange suit seemed to be the most logical solution. It might be a bit unbalanced at first glance, but the Ecologists were a priviliged group ran by the government always and probably players who want to play as an Ecologist would prefer artefact hunting to combat. There is no "best" solution here, just let it go...
To install the addon, extract the "gamedata" folder from the compressed file into your Anomaly folder.
Compatbility patch for Better Starting Loadouts 3.1 is included. To apply the patch, extract the "gamedata" folder in the "compatibility_Better_Starting_Loadouts_31" into your Anomaly folder. Since the whole addon is like one file, you copy my original one or the Better Starting Loadouts 3.1 one. I did not change any of the setting made in Better Starting Loadouts 3.1, apart from the thre armours mentioned above.
New game is required. Does not affect saved games in any aspects.
I allow my mod to be used in other mods, as long as I receive the necessary credits. (But since I just modified three starting armours, it is nothing serious...)
