2015 The war of the Russian Federation and its allies against the NATO bloc is in full swing. The main forces of the opposing sides are involved in the fighting on the Kaliningrad bridgehead. To ensure the security of Russian naval bases near Arkhangelsk and Murmansk, as well as to seize the strategic initiative in Europe as a whole, the General Staff of the Russian armed forces developed an operation to seize NATO naval bases on the northern coast of Norway. The main goal of the operation was to neutralize the NATO fleet, deprive it of a convenient springboard for attacking Russian territory and gain operational space.
