Escape From Tarkov – Overhaul Mod (v1.3 stable)

This is a mod that is still in development. It adds over 100 new guns, more than 45 types of ammo, over 200 new item modifiers, and over 70 new items to the game. The mod significantly changes the original mechanics, extends the endgame, and makes everything slightly harder, but not frustrating.

All guns have custom animations, visible attachments, different grip poses, multiaction features like underbarrel launchers, and more.

**Test version 0.9.6B of the Escape From Tarkov – Overhaul mod**

**Key Features**

1. **A Massive Arsenal of Realistic Weapons**

The mod introduces nearly 100 new, clean, and realistic firearms from the Escape From Tarkov (EFT) and other sources, catering to those who are tired of the outdated aesthetics of the vanilla weapons.

Each weapon features custom animations, visible attachments, a unique grip pose, an under-barrel grenade launcher, precision-imaging (PiP) scopes, a secondary sight, and dynamic reloading options. This includes unique reloading mechanics for shotguns, such as single-shell loading, empty versus partial reloading, and drum magazine versus normal mag reloading.

Weapons are no longer ranked based on their damage output. Instead, their quality tier determines their durability, resale value, and the number of attachment slots available.

The damage system has been redesigned to make the weapon's caliber, rather than its quality, the determining factor in damage output. High-caliber rounds can effectively shred through enemies, but they may be scarce and expensive to craft, forcing you to make every shot count. Meanwhile, smaller caliber rounds offer better sound suppression, are cheaper to produce, have a larger stack size, and more options for customization.

2. **Overhauled Ammunition and Armor Mechanics**

The mod adds over 45 types of ammunition, categorized into Ball, Armor Piercing (AP), and Hollow Point (HP) variants for each caliber. This allows players to tailor their loadouts depending on the type of enemy they are facing.

Armored zombies now have actual armor, reducing the damage of non-AP piercing ammo against them. You can no longer just brute force your way through without wasting your ammunition.

Ammo can be disassembled at workbenches to retrieve the resources equivalent and create the rounds you need.

3. **Attachments**

Weapon attachments play a crucial role in combat. Scopes, suppressors, muzzle devices, foregrips, stocks, and magazine attachments can significantly change the performance of a gun, affecting its accuracy, recoil, hip-fire spread, aiming speed, and more.

The mod includes nearly 200 item modifiers, ranging from common to unique. Some require prerequisite attachments, such as a foregrip for a gun with a shorter handguard or a 'Rail handguard' for a gun without rails to enable other attachments like a foregrip, laser, light, or launcher.

4. **Revamped Looting System**

The looting system has been completely reworked for immersion. Containers like shelves, cabinets, and crates now contain contextual loot based on their appearance and location. For example:

* Electronics shelving will have electronic components.
* Kitchen cabinets will have food, water, or cooking supplies.
* Hardware stores will carry tools and crafting materials.

If you want something in particular, go to that specific location to look for it.

5. **Immersive Night**

Nighttime has been made truly dark, as nighttime should be, instead of just a darker day. Light sources, such as helmet light and weapon light, have also been changed to complement this. You start with an old and weak helmet light with limited power and intensity. Progressing through looting tiers will eventually give you a chance to find better, wider, and brighter helmet lights to help with your nighttime adventures.

How to install the mod:

1. Turn off EAC. Make sure you have ‘0_TFP_harmony’ in your ‘Mods’ folder. If you don’t have it, do a game verify through steam.

2. Select ‘ModsEFTOverhaul.zip.001’ and extract. You should have 16 new folders that spawn from extracting the archive volumes. Put the 16 extracted folders into your ‘Mods’ folder.

Extra: to remove the extra darkness, remove worldglobal.xml in EFT1 and EFT9. It is recommended to play nomad as the mod is balanced around a 100% dmg dealt/received formula, anything harder than nomad could result in an unpleasant experience. The hit-marker mod is now optional.
