For the third month the Wehrmacht army has been trying to take Stalingrad. Hitler pulled his best divisions to him. 
But the defenders of Stalingrad fiercely resist. Very soon winter will come and frost will hit. This frightens the soldiers of the Fuhrer. 
Therefore, Hitler gave a categorical order to take Stalingrad at any cost in the coming days. 
General Paulus appointed a general assault for 6:00 am on November 11, 1942.
