Mid-February 1942. Western front. Rzhev-Vyazemsky ledge. 
General environment. 
The 33rd Army of General Efremov, which made a swift throw across the Ugra River into a gap in the German defenses, reached Vyazma in early February 1942. 
But this gap in the defense turned out to be an insidious trap of the Nazis, and the 33rd Army, together with General Efremov, was surrounded. The enemy has restored the defense along the Ugra River and does not allow our soldiers to break out of the encirclement. 
Private setting. 
We learned that one detachment from the army of General Efremov still escaped from the encirclement and came close to the Ugra. But the Nazis blocked it again and are trying to destroy it. 
Your main task is to break through to our comrades at all costs and wrest them from the clutches of death.
