Nancy Drew: Ghost Dogs of Moon Lake is an interactive first-person quest that tells the story of a young detective Nancy Drew. This is the seventh game in a line of point and click adventures of the same name. The game moves to Pennsylvania. The story is inspired by the novel The Hound of the Baskervilles. The gameplay of Nancy Drew: Ghost Dogs of Moon Lake is based on the standard mechanics of finding objects, solving puzzles and talking to different characters.

The Nancy Drew screen Ghost of Malloy Castle consists of three elements: the main part, which is dedicated to the location and characters, the screen of descriptions and dialogues, and also the part for items. Hover over in the shape of a magnifying glass. If you stumble upon an interesting object, the magnifying glass will turn red. The clock has been removed. Now you can manually switch between day and night by performing a specific action.

The heroine is contacted by her friends: Bess, Jess and the Hardy brothers, who give clues. There are two difficulty levels and a Second Chance mechanic that allows you to restart the game after a fatal error. The secondary characters are Red Knott, Jeff Akers, Emily Griffin, Sally MacDonald and Mickey Malone. Each of them keeps its own secrets and you need to unravel them.

The plot begins with the fact that Nancy's friend named Sally asks the heroine to help her with a mysterious case involving ghost dogs. Her house is located on the shore of the lake and strange things are constantly happening here. Dogs run around the area, whose eyes constantly glow. Drew manages to find out that in the 20th century, a famous mafia lived in the house, who hid here during the Prohibition period. As the legend goes, he had four Rottweilers and it is their ghosts that terrorize the area...
