World in Conflict v1.0.1.1 (b35)
World in Conflict is a real-time strategy game that tells about an alternative past, where the most powerful armies in the world - the USSR, the USA and NATO troops - are fighting for world domination. Despite the RTS genre, the project has a full-fledged storyline where the player takes on the role of a specific person - Lieutenant, and later US Army Captain Anton Parker, who, along with Captain Mark Bannon and Captain, and later Major James Webb, being under the command of Colonel Jeremy Sawyer, is directly involved in the large-scale Third World War.
The action of the plot begins in November 1989, when Soviet troops landed in the harbor of Seattle, determined to seize US territories. The combined forces of NATO and the United States are trying to counter the threat, but it only increases when China joins the conflict on the side of the Soviets. Now Parker and his comrades must by all means push the enemy troops back from their borders and prevent a nuclear war. In total, 3 factions are represented in the project: the USSR, the USA and NATO.
The player also needs to choose one of the 4 available roles:
- infantry;
- armored vehicles;
- air;
- support.
A feature of the gameplay is that the player does not need to build bases, collect resources and engage in all sorts of upgrades. Instead, before each mission, of which there are 12, a limited amount of money is given out, which is spent on acquiring units. Money is returned to the treasury as soon as a particular unit is destroyed.
In the process of completing missions, it is necessary to constantly advance and gain a foothold in the territory. To do this, you need to capture and control a complex of points where you can later unload units. With the accumulation of special points - tactical points, recruited for completing tasks and killing opponents, tactical air support becomes available - tactical aids, made in the form of 10 different air attacks. For greater disclosure of the possibilities of the game, the developers have added a multiplayer mode in which up to 5 players from each side can meet. The project also has a statistics section, where, if desired, you can find out the results of previous battles, the number of units killed, as well as see achievements and rewards.
