Attributes Options

In The Outer Worlds, as in other Obsidian projects, much attention is paid to the role-playing component. The player is given the freedom to choose from a fairly realistic set of strengths and weaknesses, and limited attribute points help further diversify this gameplay design.

However, some eager maximalist gamers just want to be the best at any game from the get go, and that's where the Attributes Options mod comes into play. It allows players to make the most of all their attributes from the very beginning, which, while not particularly realistic, is certainly an interesting and fun way to quickly replay The Outer Worlds to other endings.

New! Figured out how to do this in a simpler way. Gives you 18 points to start so you can make each one very high, no more dependence on the attribute spell method I used before. I'm adding a variety of total points so you can make some less if you want a dumb character for example so do the math yourself to figure out which one to choose. :)

**NOTE: This new way will conflict with my other mod Character Creator Skill Changes because they edit the same file. If you want a combo and don't know how to make it yourself, leave me a comment with what you want and I'll try to make you one.

***NOTE 2: If lockpick, hack, or repair are over 255, they don't work. The max lockpick/hack/repair values are byte properties which have to be a whole
number between 0 and 255. I don't know a way around this yet.

Finally figured out a way to add some attributes options, from the character creator at least. This mod changes the 'spell' added by an aptitude to give all attribute buffs instead. I picked 'no discernible aptitude' but leave me a comment if you're roleplaying and you'd rather have a super awesome dirt farmer or whatever. Please read the info below and also note that the attribute buffs also mean all your skills are increased. If you don't want that, you could try to combine it with my other character creation mod to add minus points or 0 points. I put this in its own mod since I've seen many requests for it and don't want it lost as an update to that mod.

Options

  • All attributes +2 = if you want all your attributes very high, put 1 point into each so they're all good. Then choose 'no aptitude' from the aptitude list. Tada, all very high attributes. NOTE - you can't go above 3 in the character creator with this, so if you make one attribute 3 it will go backwards. Look at the summary page before you say okay. Unless you want to be worse, then it's fine, you do you.
  • All attributes +1 = same as above but it adds just 1 point for each attribute.
  • All attributes +1 Medical Technician aptitude
  • All attributes +2 Medical Technician aptitude

As with all my mods for this game, this is an experiment and please let me know any issues. This will probably change any captains you have already that took the no aptitude aptitude.

There are plenty of reshades for The Outer Worlds, but Terraformed ReShade is the most popular by a huge margin, and it's easy to see why. Described as giving the game a new level of depth, color and graphical effects, it fully lives up to these words, increasing the detail of the textures.

Supernova is the highest difficulty level in The Outer Worlds. In addition to the fact that the enemies become more merciless. It ups the ante by hindering the player in several ways, including save limits and fast travel.
